My brother Stuart Cottrell, a sophomore in 1970, was one of the youngest who died in the plane crash. Today, July 17th, is his birthday--he would have been 55. Instead, because of that horrible accident so many years ago, he will always be 19.

I want you to know that there are many people who walk through the admissions office at Marshall University and one day leave as Alumni that never forget the loss you have felt. Every Saturday he is on our mind.
I was a friend of your brother and lived with him on the 7th floor of South Hall Dormitory in 1970. Stuart (we called him "gator") left a lasting impression on me. His mild personality and great smile I will never forget. I am sorry for your loss but greatfull for having met him. God Bless Stuart and all who perished.

I too remember Stuart very well...I still have a card he gave me when I was 16. I went to Eustis High from 4th to 7th grade and knew Stuart and your older brother. I moved to Daytona after 7th grade but Stuart and a lot of my friends came to my "sweet" sixteen party...He had the most beautiful smile and personality and left a lasting impression with me.
Hi Sally, I met your brother Stewart aka Gator the very first day I moved into Twin Towers .We sat on the wall in front and talked for along time laughing and getting to know on another. I was quit smitten with him. That cute sweet face of his and being a MY football player too. What a great start for a freshman college gal. We went to the first homecoming game and I was on top of the world. We only had a few dates but I crushed on him until that horrible day. I will alwAys remember him as well as our team.
