'God bless the people of Huntington'

I work for SAMS CLUB in Cedar Rapids, IA and for nearly a month heard "We are Marshall" several times a day when a special preview was being offered to SAMS members. Little by little as my days went by, I learned "who" Marshall was and what the movie was about. God Bless the people of Huntington and the families and friends of the people aboard. I will see this movie, and I will be moved. I already have been.

I just saw the movie. It felt like I was there. I cried for the loss. I was born and raised in Huntington and moved to CA in 1966. I remember saying "when I attend Marshall". God bless Huntington and God bless Marshall.

I just came from seeing the movie and I must say I do believe it is probably the most touching movie I have ever seen. Maybe the best all around movie I have ever seen. I was 15 years old and living in SC in 1970. I really have no recollection of this tragedy.I have noticed there is a page where the newspaper is questioning whether the movie is more fact or fiction?? I find this disturbing. I am sure whoever did the movie did their homework so why does it matter if some things are not EXACTLY as they happened. This movie tells a story that needed to be told and does it very well. We need more movies that show the real power of the human spirit in all walks of life, not just in victory over adversity. That whole town and university could have curled up and died under the weight of unbelievable greif but they didn't and that is the real victory. It's not just about football. When I asked my friend to go with me to see this movie she could not believe I had chosen to see a "football" movie! After seeing it we were both glad I did. I would see it again and I would encourage anyone who has not seen it, to go. You will not be disappointed but you will cry. This movie draws you in from the very beginning and there are many scenes in the movie when you want to stand up and clap or cheer. Just go see it. You will be glad you did.
