'Thanks, McG'

My husband (Al Rinehart #43 fullback, 1961 -63) and I have seen the movie twice this week.

We've always been so grateful for the years we spent at Marshall. Our Marshall degrees have helped us in our professional lives, but the friendships and experiences we had there shaped our lives more that the academics.

We love Huntington, Marshall and the movie. Thanks, McG, for finally getting this unbelieveable story out to the nation.

My husband is from Huntington and everyone in his family has graduated from Marshall. He was only 10 at the time but Huntington is his hometown. His parents are rumored to have been invited to go on the plane but could not go.... we are now glad they did not. The movie was very well done and left me in tears for the most part. The spirit of Marshall is a large part of the town of Huntington. That town is green through and through.

My girlfriend and I attended this movie, We Are Marshall, on Christmas of '06. This was a very moving and emotional story for us. We both love sports and were involved as kids through High School and after, but not in college. We couldn't imagine what it would be like to lose your significant other (each other), friend, brother, sister, mother and/or father in these situations. As we both agreed though it's how you honor those loved ones that will make a difference in your life and help bring the best out of the situation. The movie and I'm sure survivors did just that. It was awesome of them to keep the football program going and I truely believe the people on that flight in November of 1970 would have wanted that very same thing. Great movie and touching story...one we will pass along to everyone and our kids!

If you want to have a laugh and a "feel good" cry at the end, this is the movie to see! Way to go! Great movie for Marshall, WVU, (heart touching scenes) and West Virginia in general! What a great film even for those that have never heard of West Virginia or Marshall University!

I was born and raised around Huntington, WV and remember the plan crash well.
Dr Joseph Chambers (my Dr at the time) and his wife were on the plane.
I have lived in California several years now and when I went to the movie in my WE ARE MARSHALL shirt was amazed at the amount of people that were also there not because they remember the crash but to pay their respects to the team, family members, the school, and the town for standing behind the football program.
Thanks to everyone involved! for a great movie!

I saw the movie with my boyfriend and it was very powerful. I couldn't even imagine the strength and courage the ppl from the town of Huntington must of had to go on after such a terrible tragedy. God bless you all.

I have never heard of this tragic accident and almost cried when I ran across this page and read about 50 letters. Right now I am in my school library at C.E. Jordan Senior High in Durham, NC, and feel so sorry that your husband had to leave in such a terrible way and until this day I will honor the Marshall's every year the day it happened. But good wishes to you and know that your husband will be missed and remembered. Love always Chasity McClam.
